Announcements for Week of 5/20

Dear all,

I just wanted to circulate a couple of reminders. First, if you haven’t yet commented on Amber’s online presentation of Neil Evernden’s “Beyond Ecology” please do so. Second, I wanted to offer a brief reminder of the weekly blog postings and blog summaries. For full credit, you need to submit a blog post responded to some aspect of the week’s reading for seven of the nine weeks of the schedule. You blog posting can range from informal meditations to more formal argumentation—how you choose to respond is up to you. These postings are thoughts-in-progress and really more the starting point for discussion than its endpoint. The weekly blog summarizers (moderators, compilers, we’ve used several terms throughout the quarter) present to the class a summary of the activity for the week, noting patterns and foci that might also lead to discussion in class.

I especially want to emphasize the need for summary given this week’s schedule. Possibly by design or by error, we have three presenters this week plus our weekly blog summary. Of course each presentation/discussion ought to be as rich and complete as it needs to be, but we have a particular need for concision this week.

Thanks for all your efforts so far.
